Health Services Research & Policy

Increasing Quality, Reducing Costs

Why do we have the most expensive health system in the world and yet nearly 40 countries boast better health than ours? Health services research aims at changing our health system to improve efficiency and health quality while reducing cost. Health services research focuses on social factors, financing systems, organizational structures and processes, and provider and patient personal behaviors that affect access, quality, and cost of health care.
