Syringe Service Programs Across The U.S. Have Been Impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic, Study Finds

Ph.D. candidate Tyler Bartholomew and Dr. Hansel Tookes co-authored a study that analyzes the operational and service delivery changes to syringe service programs in the U.S. as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were collected from 65 syringe service programs in 44 states across the U.S., including 14 sites in New York City, in a one-week period in March 2020.

Bradley Lezak, MD/MPH candidate, is the lead author of the study, which examines the myriad of ways in which orthopaedic trauma departments across the globe have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The study includes the largest data set characterizing global COVID-19 situations and responses of orthopaedic trauma practices from around the world.
