Dr. Elahe Nezami Dr. Elahe ("Ellie") Nezami joined the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Department of Public Health Sciences as a Professor on the Educator Track in the Division of Health Services Research and Policy. Dr. Nezami served as the Director of the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies undergraduate program at the University of Southern California for 25 years. In 2008, she developed and launched the Master of Science in Global Medicine online program. In 2010, she also launched the Global Health undergraduate program and the Master of Electrical Engineering: Wireless Health Technology. Dr. Nezami serves as North American Regional Director of the Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium of Public Health and as a member of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health. Dr. Nezami has developed partnerships and cultivated relationships for study and research with many collaborators throughout the world. She is committed to innovative educational programs in the public health and global health disciplines and expanding the general population's knowledge of public health and global health issues. Dr. Nezami’s research focuses on global health education, effective integration of technology into pedagogy, spaced learning and its utility in improving learning outcomes, determinants of behavioral risk factors for chronic diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases, and the examination of personality characteristics in relation to cardiovascular disease. She received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California.
