Created in 2012, the Miami Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) serves as the home to clinical and translational science at the University of Miami and drives research translation into evidence-based clinical and community practices that improve the health of South Florida’s diverse population.
It’s goals are to improve the quality and efficacy of clinical and translational research, advance team science and culturalize health sciences. The Miami CTSIdoes this by offering research programs, services, resources and training in novel ways that foster excellence in discovery, innovation and translation; elevate research ethics; promote collaboration among diverse disciplines; and build full research partnerships with diverse communities.
In addition, the Miami CTSI collaborates with the OneFlorida Clinical Research Network, a group of Florida academic research institutions, hospital systems, clinics and physician providers, to promote research projects that build statewide health research capacity and opportunities.
The Miami CTSI is a member of the National Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Consortium, a prestigious group of 62 world-class academic research institutions that is transforming the way biomedical research is conducted across the country. Unique among CTSA institutions, we are jointly funded by the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences and the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities.
